JazzTimes reviews Days of Wine and Roses

Check out the September 2004 issue of JazzTimes magazine to see what reviewer Christopher Loudon has to say about Days of Wine and Roses: Songs of Johnny Mercer.

Loudon’s picturesque words create a delightful transport to Savannah, GA (Mercer’s hometown), “precisely the sort of place where pianist Beegie Adair’s latest collection of smoothly polished chestnuts…would go down as easily as bonded bourbon.”

Well said. A rightful summary for an outstanding project. Loudon concludes, “Adair is like the jazz equivalent of the Queen Mary 2: solid and safe, yet welcoming and luxurious.”
